Stephanie Watson’s Biography
Stephanie Watson is a CBS12 anchor for the 3p & 5:30p newscasts and anchors the 10p CW34 newscast. She also leads the “Stephanie Solves It” news segment trying to right the wrongs in our communities.
Stephanie comes to West Palm Beach from the CBS owned station KDKA TV in Pittsburgh, where she was an anchor and reporter for 5 years.
She’s no stranger to South Florida. In 2004-2006, She was the morning and noon anchor at WBBH/NBC 2 in Fort Myers. Stephanie covered 6 major hurricanes in 2004, including a direct hit from category 4 Hurricane Charley. That was only to be surpassed by the following year in which she found herself covering the most active Atlantic hurricane season in recorded history including another direct hit from Hurricane Wilma making landfall as a category 3 storm.
Stephanie got her start in the news broadcasting business as an anchor at KBMT in Beaumont, Texas. She received “Outstanding Media Coverage of Crime Victims’ Issues” for Hardin County, Texas.
She also has an entertainment news background, having worked behind the scenes in Los Angeles as a segment producer for shows like “Extra,” “Hard Copy” and the talent coordinator for “1999 Emmy Awards Pre-Show.”
Throughout her career, Stephanie has been involved in numerous charities. And she is passionate about supporting our military and their families. With a long line of military service men in her family, she understands the sacrifices and hardships at a time of war and here at home. That’s why her involvement with Children of Wounded Warriors is extremely important to her and lives by “Never let them walk alone…” Stephanie believes that same mission also applies to law enforcement, Fire Rescue, first responders and their families.
