Corporal John Anderson had his first symptom in August 2010, was diagnosed with ALS in December 2010. Corporal Anderson has since had to retire from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office due to his illness.
Miranda his daughter was selected for a grant to play on the All-Star baseball team this summer. She is currently playing baseball and is looking forward to volleyball and basketball once their seasons start. These activities have and will continue to help Miranda to maintain her focus, grow emotionally, and gain support from friends.
John played baseball through high school and started her love of the game by playing with her and teaching her prior to his diagnoses. He never missed a game or practice prior to his hospitalizations and him seeing her play is a goal we are striving and hoping for. The care for Corporal Anderson has caused a significant financial constraint and with these grants we hope will assist. His wife Linda is also a deputy with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and we hope to continue to assist her family in the future.
